Layout: 18(-1) 2-58 66 78(through f. 53) 3 (?) quires missing here 8-198 208(-4, 5 with loss of text). Catchword survives in the gutter of f. 15v, as well as the quire signature in the center lower margin, "iius"; one other quire signature, "xii," on f. 69v for what is now quire 9. 30-44 long lines; no ruling visible but prick marks along outer margin.

Although assigned here to England, it is possible that the manuscript was copied in the Netherlands. Copied by several scribes; the text on ff. 121v-155, is possibly somewhat later. On f. 1, added note of 38 lines in a very small, nearly illegible hand on the assumption of the Virgin. Also on f. 1, 4 verses, "Nunc quoque christe pie cui claustra pudica marie/Pervia manserunt miroquo modo...

Written in the Netherlands, or possibly in England, towards the middle of the twelfth century; ff. 121v-155 may be somewhat later. Belonged to the Cistercian abbey of Aulne in the diocese of Liège.
