"Anno 1478" is written in a contemporary hand on the front flyleaf i verso and on the back flyleaf iii. The first owner was probably the woman whose portrait is on f. 1; on f. 1v, the initials of her name or of her motto. The book may have been a wedding gift. Purchased by Henry E. Huntington in September 1926 from R. Koehler of Portland, Oregon.
