Welcome to the Digital Scriptorium Catalog Wikibase!

The Digital Scriptorium (DS) Catalog is the online data repository, semantic portal, and knowledge base of the Digital Scriptorium consortium, with the goal of becoming a national union catalog of premodern manuscripts in North American collections.

Searching, Browsing, and Querying the DS Wikibase

Use the search bar in the upper right corner to perform keyword searches (e.g. "Aristotle") in the DS Catalog Wikibase or browse items here.

For deeper search and data analysis, users can query the Wikibase directly with SPARQL queries in the DS Wikibase Query Service.

Data Sources and Reuse

Data in the DS Wikibase is derived from contributions of metadata records from DS member institutions which have been aggregated and harmonized through the DS data model, enriched using Linked Open Vocabularies and Authorities, and transformed and republished as Linked Open Data. Member institutions are represented in the DS Catalog dependent upon contribution of their data.

Structured data in the DS Wikibase is made available to the public under a Creative Commons Zero (CC-0) license.

All other DS Catalog data, DS workflow documentation, and DS-generated content are made available to the public under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. DS data, documentation, and content under this license can be found on Github, Zenodo, the DS Catalog search site, and the DS organization website.
