Martini, from whom the fragment was purchased, ascribes its production to the monasteries of Mount Athos, Greece. However, a new, ongoing census of Greek Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts in the Collections of the United States of America conducted by Dr. Nadezhda Kavrus-Hoffmann suggests an Italian origin.
