Marginal notes in red and black in different hands. On title page are eight verses of poetry. After the colophon are several quotations from the Qurʼān and a few wisdom verses. On the page following are ten verses by Abū Nuwās and a masʼalah on inheritance. The author of this commentary was a disciple of the famous grammarian Ibn Khālawayh (317-370/929-989/1), from whom he learned the ode.
