The text of the decretals is written in the center of the page in a rotunda gothic book hand in two columns, surrounded by the commentary in a smaller hand in the same style, also in two columns.

F. 1r has a historiated border with unidentified arms. There are 44 historiated initials, mostly with men's heads. Many other initials are illuminated in colors and gold, or are in red or blue with pen-work decoration.
