Martin Breslauer's sale (1960) and Faye & Bond's Supplement (1962) describe this manuscript as early 13-century Dutch. The description has since been revised primarily on the basis of script. Furthermore, according to Breslauer, the manuscript belonged to Wilfred Merton; however, it lacks Merton's usual notes and bookplate. See curatorial file for further information.
