From the inscription in the center of the medallion on the front page, this ms. was deposited in the treasury of Sultan Ḥusayn Bahādur, 1506, for whom Bihzād probably painted the miniatures. According to a note immediately below the colophon, the ms. was presented by Mīr Jamāl al-Dīn Ḥusayn Inju to the Mogul Emperor Akbar (r. 1556-1605).
