Origin: A note by a different hand states that the text was completed in Rajab 1052 H [September-October 1642] (fol. 119b); however, this contradicts the muqaddimah in which the author states he wrote his Miṣbāḥ al-ʻilāj for Nādir Shāh [r. 1736-47] (fol. 5a). According to Fihrist-i nuskhahʹhā-yi khaṭṭī-i Khāndān Maybudī, this text was completed in 1207 H [1792 or 3].
