On the back inside flyleaf are descriptive notes on the manuscript, indicating that Thomas M. Izbicki identified it as Raymond of Peñafort's Summa de Poentitentia in a letter of July 8, 1980

Fol. 31 has been cut and repaired. Two leaves from Book I are loose at the beginning of the manuscript. Some discoloration to leaves, with a number of final leaves in the manuscript curling at the corners.

Binding: Modern vellum over board with leather thongs; inscription in the inner front cover identifies it as French from the thirteenth century; written in ink on spine: "TREATISE ON CANON LAW."

Layout: Two loose leaves from the MS slipped in before flyleaf; written area: 175 x 118 mm; 2 columns of 40 lines, lead point ruling; the primary text is in a slightly larger script and always runs in the left column with the gloss to the right; the opening pages to each book have been excised, leaving relatively little decoration: flourished initials in red and blue begin rubricated chapter...
