A modern transcription of the Giambullari letter and some notes in Italian were laid into the manuscript. These are now on file in the Library, along with a detailed description of the manuscript, in English, probably prepared by the bookseller from whom the Library purchased it. Many of the details in the present catalog record are derived from this bookseller's description.

Endleaves contain a description of the manuscript in Italian, written in Florence and dated 16 June 1939. Inside upper cover contains a label with a modern description of the contents, also in Italian.

The Lorenzo the Magnificent to whom the third item is attributed is probably not the famous Lorenzo the Magnificent, but rather his son Lorenzo, the Duke of Urbino, brother of Pope Leo X. A later owner's note in the manuscript identifies Fra Mariano as the buffoon of Pope Leo X.

The fourth item concerns the "Rappresentazione" presented at the church of St. Cecilia in Fiesole on 6 July 1522.
