Parchment. A few small worm holes. Written in an English cursive documentary script. Nine lines ruled in plummet. Folded at bottom. Attached is a seal tag that was cut from an earlier document of which some of the words are still visible. Attached to the tag is a narrow band formerly used to hold an affiliated claim (see MS 157)

Written in England, the document concerns lands in Rodes, i.e., Rhodes Green in Menston, NW of Leeds, Yorks WR, near Hawksworth and Guiseley. Dated to the late thirteenth century, or not much later, on paleographic grounds, and on the identification of one of the witnesses, Simon Ward miles (known 1291-1326; Moor 84:155-6).
