Watermarks: single watermark on the front and back flyleaves: reads "G. Fichtners Nachf"; single watermark in the textblock: a bull's head with shaft surmounted by a star (very similar to Briquet BR 15079).

Binding: Modern. Bound in paste paper in dark blue patterns over paper boards. Two paper labels adhered to spine: a rectangular label on the head and a spiked round label on the tail, which is inscribed "fol. ST3 [?]" in ink.

In good condition except for ink smears on a few leaves. Minor bookworm damage throughout the manuscript. The center-fold of the gathering is supported by an approximately 18 mm repurposed parchment strip that is adhered to the innermost leaves.

Bookseller annotations and price in pencil in upper half of front pastedown, perhaps by different hands: "15th century," "De arte bene moriendi," "Ars Moriendi [in capital letters]," "Dated 1456 (Composition 1452)."
