This leaf contains the beginning of the Decretals of Pope Boniface VIII, promulgated in 1298 and known as the Sextus Liber Decretalium (The Sixth Book of Decretals). The miniature is a nineteenth-century forgery, probably painted over a damaged miniature or one that was never completed.
