Physical description: 23 lines per page; written in naskh in black on tan glazed, laid Arabic paper with visible fibers. Rubrication and catchwords; a few marginal notes and corrections. Arabic quotations vocalized and overlined in red. Inserts between fol. 29-30, 38-39, 263-264. Paper repairs to first three and last four folios. Some marginal damp staining. Otherwise in excellent condition.

Origin: Text written in 1065 H [1654 or 5] (fol. 391a); a note on fol. 1a states the text was completed in 1163 H, but according to Āghā Buzurg 1065 is the correct date for the first volume (Dharīʻah, XVIII, 369). This copy completed in 1189 H [1775 or 6] (fol. 391a).

On fol. 1a: Owner's note of Asad Allāh ibn Abī al-Qāsim al-Jābirī al-Anṣārī al-Gharawī al-madʻū bi-Amīn al-Wāʻiẓīn dated Rabīʻ II 1328 H [April-May 1910]. The volume was subsequently transferred to Muḥammad Bāqir ibn Aḥmad al-Ḥa[---]ī al-mushtahir bi-Baḥr al-ʻUlūm in Shawwāl 1355 H [December 1936-January 1937].
