    Binding: Late 16th- or early 17th-century calf over boards, rebacked, central gilt cartouche, initials F.A./ SH on front and back (possibly added later), all edges gilt, bronze clasps (one of which, on the lower cover, is engraved with the initials "A W S H"), straps lacking, paper pastedowns and conjugate flyleaf front and back; housed in a four-fold manilla wrapper.

    Provenance: The original owner of the volume was Charles-Benoit de Campigny (1569 - 1634). An early Latin inscription on second front flyleaf (formerly fol. 109 at the back of the volume?) indicates the book was sold by his brother Adam to an Orléans bookseller who sold it for 40 solidi Tournois, to the Celestine abbey of Notre-Dame d'Ambert (which added the ex-libris "De Amberto") where...
