    Parchment, single sheet with tag, seal no longer attached; an additional parchment sheet (125 x 150 mm) is attached by the parchment tag. 294 x 452 mm. Written in a light English secretary script; additional sheet written in a hurried secretary script with a darker ink. Folded five times.

    Written in England, Essex and dated 30 December 1 Charles I (1626) and 1634. Inscription in a near-contemporary hand on lower middle portion of dorse: "30 Dec 1625 Richards Leaks Will Essex__5" ; followed by "Essex | II" in pencil. Also in pencil on dorse, "2311."
