The votive mass on f. 182v, "pro fratribus congregationis," with its invocation of the Virgin and Michael Archangel, may point to an origin in a house of canons regular dedicated to them. The presence of the indexing symbols suggests that the bible belonged at an early date to a Franciscan or to a cleric who had been to Oxford, since these symbols were employed primarily at Grey Friars...
